# Three seats are reserved for Foreign Nationals applying for the B.ASLP. They will apply for the course through the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. Admission will be made strictly as per the rules of the Institute and that of the Institute and that of the University. Of the 30 seats, 15 seats are filled through all India advertisement and the other 15 seats through Maharashtra CET.
Age Limit: (i) 30 years for M.Ed(HI) B) For eligibility to B.ASLP Course, candidate should have completed 17 years of age on 1st Jan of the year of the advertisement.

**Includes one year internship training.
Intership
In order to facilitate a smooth transition from theory to practice, the internship of one year duration has been made compulsory for the course Bachelor of Audiology. Speech Language Pathology. A stipend of Rs. 1,500/- p.m is paid during internship.
Scope and Prospects
- Graduates in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology can practice as independent audiologists and speech language pathologists/therapists. They will also be eligible to work in hospitals (Department of ENT, pediatrics, neurology, rehabilitation medicine, plastic surgery and preventive medicine), speech and hearing centres, hearing aid industry, clinics, spastic centres, schools for children with hearing impairment, mental retardation, industrial set up, child guidance centres and as faculty/ supervisors/research assistants in speech and hearing training programmes.
- Post Graduates in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology will be eligible for appointment as lectures, research officers, master trainers in Institutions conducting training programmes and/or research in medical colleges and hospitals.
- D.H.L.S. holders can work as assistants to audiologists and speech language pathologists in special schools (for children with hearing impairment, mental retardation etc.), clinics, District Disabilities Rehabilitation Centres, Rural Health Centres.
- B.Ed (HI)/(HH)/Spl.Edu.(HI) trained teachers will be eligible to work in special schools for children with hearing handicap, resource units attached to regular schools, IED/DPED schemes.
- M.Ed (HI) trained teachers in addition to the above will also be eligible for appointment as principals, high school teachers, lecturers, research officers, master trainers in institutions conducting training programmes.
- Diploma trained Teachers in Special Education will be eligible to work in pre–primary and primary sections of special schools for children with hearing impairment, resource units attached to regular schools.
Admission Procedure Based on Eligibility
Admissions are made on the basis of academic qualifications required and in accordance with the prevailing rules of the Institute and the affiliating Universities. Seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribes(ST)/Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates as per the Central Government rules.
University Requirement for admission
Candidates selected for admission to Bachelor and Master courses either at Mumbai or its Regional Centres, and who have passed from Boards/Universities other than the Universities to which the Centres are affiliated, will have to produce Provisional Statement of Eligibility from the respective Universities on payment of fees as specified by that University. All admissions made will be provisional and subject to confirmation of eligibility by the respective Universities.

### Students of B.ASLP to pay Educational Tour Fees only during the third year.
Note: Tution Fees for Foreign Nationals: NRI's and Foreign Nationals from SAARC countries shall pay five times the existing fee. Foreign students outside SAARC countries shall be levied fifteen times the existing fee.
In addition to the above, university fees for eligibility, enrollment, sports, cultural activities, PG registration, etc. as notified by the concerned universities are to be paid by the students. The original certificates submitted at the time of admission will be kept in the custody of the concerned universities/ centers till the completion of the course/confirmation of eligibility. Eligible candidates from foreign countries are admitted as per university/institute rules/guidelines. Such candidates shall seek clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi and produce a medical fitness certificate including AIDS test.
Other Information
The SC/ST/PH students can apply for suitable Government Scholarships. The Institute has its own Merit–cum–Means Scholarship schemes for the benefit of needy students.
All Diploma level courses at Regional centres are taught in regional local language. The medium of instruction for degree courses at all Centres in English but B.Ed (HI) and M.Ed (HI) candidates at Mumbai are permitted to write the final examination in Hindi/Gujrathi/Marathi. All courses mentioned above are full time courses.
The Institute provides hostel accommodation to the limited number of outstation candidates, both at Mumbai and its Regional Centres. A cot, study table and chairs are provided in the hostel rooms. Hostel wardens will be available to assist the students and maintain discipline. Hostel will be allotted on first cum first basis.
Canteen facilities, in accordance with the requirements of the Centres, are available, students may avail the facility on payment directly the Canteen Management. Mess arrangement is available, where a full–fledge canteen does not exist.
Rules/regulation/guidelines for fees/admission/entrance examination are subject to change without any notice. Outstation selected candidates as far as possible will be provided with hostel accommodation on payment of charges. The Institute reserves the right of selection/rejection of application(s) without assigning any reasons thereof. Only selected candidates will be informed about their admission. No other enquiries will be entertained.
Reservation and age relaxation are as Central Government and Institute Rules. Admission to Degree Courses is subject to confirmation of eligibility by respective Universities. Conduct of course is subject to availability of adequate number of candidates.
All matters of dispute shall be limited to Mumbai Court or the Court under whose jurisdiction the Regional Centres function.
