Answer: Yes, there are nominal charges for clinical services depending upon the monthly income.

Question: Can we purchase Hearing aid at AYJNIHH?

Answer: Yes. Hearing aids can be purchased at the Hearing Aid Sale Counter. The Institute has started to sell all makes and models of hearing aids available in the open market at Institute’s rate contract rate.

  • National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) Programme:
    • NIHH was given accreditation as a National Institute of Open Schooling - SAIED (Special Accredited Institution for Education for the Disadvantaged) Centre. This is the only SAIED for Persons with Hearing Impairment in India.

Question: How is the selection made for long term courses?

Answer: Entrance Test at Mumbai, Kolkata and Secunderabad. At NRC – BASLP Entrance based on merit and counseling Diploma Courses as per RCI online aptitude test Ph.D. Entrance Test shall be conducted by MUHS, Nashik.

Question: Which are the Centers of Common Entrance Test?

Answer: Change from year to year. Generally for B.Ed.(HI) and BASLP exams are held at ERC, Kolkata and AYJNIHH, Mumbai. For courses at SRC, Osmania University, Secunderabad and MASLP – at ERC, West Bengal University of Health Science, Diploma courses, Centers are decided by RCI.

Question: When is the application issued?

Answer: From last week of April to May every year for Mumbai, SRC & NRC – separate advertisements are released. For some courses at ERC, University holds exams and sets the dates. Course terms are decided by affiliating Universities.

Question: When is the Common Entrance Test held?

Answer: In the month of June for Mumbai and other Centers as per affiliating Universities. For Diploma courses online aptitude test is held by RCI.

Question: When will the CET results be announced?

Answer: Latest within a week of the Entrance exams.

Question: What is the cost of Application form and Prospectus and how is payment to be made?

Answer: Rs. 500/- for General category, Rs. 300/- for SC/ST/PH. (To enclose relevant certificates). Mode of payment Demand Draft in favour of “Director, AYJNIHH” payable at Mumbai.

Question: Where to get application forms?

Answer: Application forms to be purchased from the Center from where the course is to be pursued and should be submitted to the particular center only.

Question: What would be the last date for submission of application forms?

Answer: Changes from year to year. Information can be obtained in this website.

Question: What are the documents/certificates required?

Answer: Proof of age, 12th std. Result, marksheets of exams listed in eligible column all duly attested.

Question: How do you communicate to the candidates of their selection?

Answer: By telephone, speed post and phonogram.

Question: When counseling/admission are done?

Answer: After Selection Committee meeting is held the dates are decided for implementation and change from year to year. Uploaded on the website.

Question: When do the classes commence?

Answer: For MUHS – 1st August every year, Mumbai University – Mid June. Other Centers as per affiliating University and Diploma in July each year.

Question: What are the fees?

Answer: Log on to website ayjnihh.nic.in

Question: Are there Hostel facilities, fees, etc.?

Answer: Yes. Rs.12,600/- per annum, facility on first-cum-first served basis.

Question: What about ragging?

Answer: There is a anti-ragging Committee at each Center. Student Welfare officers are appointed. Senior faculty and students are involved to keep a close watch on the activities of students. Compliance reports are sent to UGC and affiliating Universities. All Rules pertaining to ragging are strictly adhered to and student feedback is obtained. Monitoring is very thorough

Question: Where are classes and clinics conducted?

Answer: Classes are held at the Center in classrooms and practicals are conducted in clinics.

Question: Where is Internship to be done?

Answer: As per RCI norms and affiliating University for a period of 52 weeks, in different types of set ups like hospitals, clinics, schools, etc.

Question: How are the teaching facilities?

Answer: Excellent

Question: What are the Library facilities available?

Answer: Latest Books, Journals and internet facility are available. Library is also open on Saturdays and Sundays.

Question: Can I change my admission from one subject to the other subject?

Answer: No. For such options the student will have to appear for all the Entrance Exams to qualify.

Question: Can I change the Center of Examination?

Answer: Generally No, but may be considered, if done atleast a fortnight before exam or in case of rail-strike etc. Common Entrance Test is held as per the existing norms of the exam conducting body/University.
